The "Healthy Eating 101" program at Uxbridge Secondary School has been officially launched! The first seminar on "Why What We Eat is Important" was held on February 27th and received extremely positive feedback from the students. Four seminars in total will be conducted by Cam’s Kids holistic nutritionist, Stephanie Di Grazia, RHN and incorporated into the Phys Ed curriculum.
When Hippocrates wrote, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”, he was sharing a fundamental truth: if your food isn’t contributing to your health, it’s contributing to your illness.
Food is powerful medicine. The foods we eat regularly help determine whether or not we will become ill. Nutrient deficiencies and toxicity from a poor diet are linked to nearly all modern health conditions. A person eating a nutrient-rich diet, low in refined sugars and junk foods, is much better equipped to deal with life stressors.
