Here are 10 steps to approach healing in a holistic manner.

  1. Breathing exercises – the way we breathe is intricately connected to our mental state. Remember to breathe deeply into your belly throughout the day.
  2. EMF exposure – turn off Wi-Fi, or at the very least, distance yourself at night in order to allow the body to heal during sleep.
  3. EFT – practice EFT = Emotional Freedom Technique – a self-help technique used to release the emotional blockages of past trauma. Seek a health practitioner to assist in the learning process.
  4. Exercise – regular daily movement is vital not only to your physical health but also for your mental well-being.
  5. Gut health – Consume fibre rich, fermented foods and probiotic supplements. Most of the serotonin is produced in your gut!
  6. Nutritional imbalances – Correct any deficiencies – especially: Omega 3 fatty acids, B complex vitamins, Magnesium and Vitamin D.
  7. Mindfulness training – incorporate a spiritual practice, meditation or prayer. Especially helpful if combined with deep breathing.
  8. Sleep – get good quality and quantity (7-9 hours each night).
  9. Sugar and processed foods – your diet plays a key role in mental health. Sugar laden/processed foods are detrimental to overall health and do very little to feed your brain and balance mood.
  10. Toxic exposure – reducing toxins can have a huge impact and influence health. Example: toxic mold exposure can cause anxiety. Take the time to replace toxic products with natural alternatives for household and personal care.
