Joelle Anderson is a highly accomplished Registered Psychotherapist and a Certified Canadian Counsellor. Cam's Kids is also honoured to be able to call her one of our "Ask the Experts". We love all that she stands for and all that she does to try and support those struggling with mental health issues. Which is why when she decided to donate her time and launch a weekly virtual support group, we wanted to make sure we did whatever we could to support her and promote this incredible resource!
Below is the description of the support group taken from her website. We encourage you to read the description below to learn more and find out how you can join in on the next session!
"Uncertain times = difficult emotions
Join Registered Psychotherapist, Joelle Anderson, for this weekly support group designed to help people with mental and emotional challneges arising as we practice social distancing and try to cope with COVID-19.
Each group will begin with a mindfulness/grounding skill, and then focus on sharing any difficult thoughts, experiences and/or emotions that have been arising for group members. The group will then be invited to share their own forms of coping, what's been working for them, similar thoughts/feelings, and/or therapeutic insights
Mondays from 5:00pm-5:50pm
Facilitated via Zoom
To register, participants are asked to donate what they can ($10 suggested minimum) for each group. All profits will be donated back to a local community service* and/or business in Uxbridge to help the community cope with this emergency."
*Please note Cam's Kids is not affiliated or receiving compensation from the support group. We believe in the benefits of this support group and simply want to spread the word! ❤️
