It is common for post-secondary schools to provide a list of must-have items to bring with you for your first year. These are commonly things like household items, clothing, knick-knacks, etc. Below we provide a list of items not commonly suggested, but can positively ease your anxiety and relieve stress.

These are commonly things like household items, clothing, knick-knacks, etc. Below we provide a list of items not commonly suggested, but can positively ease your anxiety and relieve stress.
- Vitamins, supplements or medications you have been prescribed to take
- Your favourite essential oils, roll-ons and diffuser
- Yoga mat
- Ear plugs and eye mask
- Your favourite teas and mug
- Non-toxic cleaners, dusters and dust pans to keep your room clean and organized
- Duffle bag you can use for weekend trips home or to take to the gym
- Pictures or mementos from home (tip: bring picture hangers/hooks that don’t damage your walls to avoid fines at the end of the year
- Favourite blanket, stuffed animal and/or pillow
- Doorstop so you can keep your bedroom door open when you want to be social
- Large calendar or whiteboard calendar to keep organized
- Notebooks – for both your classes and for personal journaling
- Colouring or activity books
- Your favourite healthy snacks to keep in your room
- Any or all of the following to improve the air quality in your room:
- Himalayan Salt Lamp
- Flowers such as Snake Plants, Aloe Vera, Succulents and Orchids
- Beeswax candles
