Exams are here and we have asked our followers to share their favourite study tips and relaxation techniques. Here is a list of what was shared!

  1. Always have a warm drink on my desk
  2. Listen to my body. If I don’t take a break or rest when my body is telling me to I’ll feel run down
  3. Have a productive study date! If you used to do that at a coffee shop with a friend - video chat with them instead with a tea in hand (but make sure you stay on topic)
  4. Write example exam questions on sticky notes and post them around the house
  5. Careful on the caffeine! Substitute a coffee for herbal tea, Cacao, or Chaga
  6. Eat healthy! Fuel your mind
  7. Allow for breaks that get you moving - ex. Zumba (Monday nights at 7pm), #WorkoutWednesday (Wednesdays at noon), yoga, or your favourite activity
  8. Study snacks/treats to keep my mind and body fuelled
  9. Listen to calm music - Weightless perhaps? It is known as the "world's most relaxing song".
  10. Go to bed early so that you can rise and grind early - just because you can sleep in now, doesn't mean you should all the time
  11. Making time between studying to socialize (we starve socially during exam season) - video chats, apps such as "Houseparty", or simple phone calls are all great options
  12. Essential oils! Stress release, peppermint halo and deep breath are my favourites
  13. Give yourself enough time so you don’t feel stressed for time
  14. Go outside if you're allowed, or open a window in your house and sit near it to breathe in the fresh air
  15. Go for a walk with someone also living in your house (stay 6ft apart - the length of a hockey stick) - again if your city/town permits it
  16. Rewrite notes and colour them of best importance
  17. Don’t pull all-nighters! Your mind absorbs more information if it’s well rested
  18. Take 20 minutes each morning for yourself without distractions (tv, roommates, cell phone) to breathe and be grateful. Set intentions for the day or just to be with your thoughts. Remember to always be kind to yourself. Exams aren’t easy and your best is enough
  19. Follow a schedule to stay on track and allow yourself some down time - perhaps a similar schedule to before "social" distancing
  20. Going to sleep and waking up at my normal times - again, same as before "social" distancing
  21. Have virtual lunch dates with a friend
  22. Cuddle with my new kitten (or any pet you have)
  23. Having a schedule, writing to do lists to make sure you are not overworking yourself, getting up early to study all day which leads to having a good sleep!
  24. Take a nap or practice deep breathing
