Massage Therapy
The one thing we all have in common is this - we’re human. Regardless of what we do for work, where we go to school or how old we are - we’re all human beings who physically experience stress in one way or another. For those that understand how to manage this stress, life can be relatively calming. However, we all have to start somewhere.

The one thing we all have in common is this - we’re human. Regardless of what we do for work, where we go to school or how old we are - we’re all human beings who physically experience stress in one way or another. For those that understand how to manage this stress, life can be relatively calming. However, we all have to start somewhere.

I remember when I was growing up, especially when I was a young adult, there was a LOT to deal with. And I honestly didn’t understand most of it. My body was changing, my friends were changing, I was going to brand new schools every couple years and life felt fleeting. It dawned upon me one day that I had the POWER to choose how to deal with my external circumstances, and that it all started with me. As I got older, I understood the importance of feeding myself nutritious foods so that my body felt better. I got sick less often and I began to have more energy. Then, I discovered the opportunity that massage therapy had for me.

After my first massage, I felt like a new person. A lot of my energy that had been stuck and trapped in the little nooks and crannies of my body was allowed to be released. I felt free and extremely relaxed! That’s when I knew I wanted to share this gift with others. I became a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), and began to share the power of this healing modality with all those around me.

For many, massage therapy is a form of self-care. It’s extremely therapeutic and allows you to surrender to the present moment. It allows you to give your body the love and nurturing it truly deserves. And from a mental health perspective, it helps alleviate feelings of anxiety and restlessness. When combined with essential oil therapy (which is what I practice in my clinic), this can be one of the best self-care routines you have ever experienced.

If you’re wondering how massage ACTUALLY works, here’s what it is: it’s basically the manipulation of soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. According to the RMTAO website, “massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular overuse and many chronic pain conditions.”

Massage therapy can truly help strengthen your body, as well as your heart, mind and spirit. Whether you’re dealing with physical or emotional pain, there is truly something to gain for everyone. It can even help with other conditions such as insomnia, headaches, circulatory problems, asthma and it can overall improve your recovery rate.

Remember, your self-care is non-negotiable. In order for you to be the best version of yourself for others - you must be that best version for YOU. The work starts from within. Give yourself the gift of self love, and book a massage today.
