On Friday March 6th, 10 Cam's Kids Ambassadors followed in the footsteps of thousands across the country, by participating in the Relay for Life fundraising event at the Trent Athletic Centre.
"For 20 years, Relay For Life has been the Canadian Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event. Participants of all ages take turns walking around a designated track, with each team having at least one member on the track at all times, as a way to symbolize how we’re all affected by cancer. With nearly 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, we all know someone whose life has been changed by this disease."
Josh Kelly and Sarah Mosher are co-lead Ambassadors at Trent University, and were the captains for two teams participating in this signature event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Out of over 30 teams registered, the Cam's Kids Team came in 1st place, raising over $2,500 - beating their goal by over $1,000! As an event, Trent University raised over $31,152! Special shoutout to team lead Josh Kelly for raising $772.00 on his own - which put him in 6th place overall!
We are incredibly proud of our Ambassadors who continue to give back to their community and make the world a brighter place to be!
