"No Drink November" - 2018
No Drink November, created by Logan Robinson, stated “for one month, to honour the memory of friends that I have lost in accidents related to alcohol, [she] will be giving up drinking”. No Drink November is a 30 day challenge that encourages people to not drink alcohol for the entire month of November.

In her new role as the foundation’s Research and Development Coordinator, Meghan Kelleher, 25, brings boundless enthusiasm and passion to the Cam’s Kids Foundation. Elated to have this opportunity with Cam’s Kids, Meghan terms her involvement with the foundation “a no brainer”. Being a part of the foundation is a win every day for her.

The UxCycle event returned for its second fantastic year this past Sunday September 23rd. With the new venue of Elgin Park and the addition of mountain bike routes, the event was great success.

Cam's Kids Partners with 23 Universities and Colleges For Orientation 2018
At the beginning of September, 40,000 pamphlets were distributed into orientation kits for first year students. This is thanks to the 23 universities and colleges across Canada who have partnered with Cam’s Kids to help in the foundation’s mission of “Supporting Young People Struggling with Anxiety”.

“Each year, as part of the Lowe's Canada Heroes campaign, stores and employees support a local non-profit organization or a public school in their community through a fundraising campaign and a corporate donation.” This September, the Cam’s Kids Foundation has been selected as the not-for-profit recipient for this campaign!

This past Saturday July 14th Cam’s Kids participated in local music festival, HitsFest. HitsFest is a full day festival featuring a lineup of amazing musical talent from noon-11pm accompanied by a local beer garden, food trucks, live art and vendors.

On Tuesday February 20th, and most recently, Monday May 28th, Cam’s Kids Ambassadors gathered from near and far to attend the safeTALK alertness training session. Ambassadors from universities and colleges across Ontario including UOIT, Guelph, Fanshawe, McMaster, Carleton, Guelph, Queens and Brock came together to learn how to identify and avert suicide risks.

On Saturday April 7th, Cam's Kids supporters and ambassadors hosted a ball hockey tournament at Brock University. "Battle at Brock" provided a great opportunity to connect with one another, raise money and continue the conversation around anxiety, including promoting the resources available through the foundation.

On January 31st 2018, also known as “Bell Let's Talk” day, Fallingbrook Middle School, under the leadership of Giota and Athena Curitti, launched a fundraiser for Cam’s Kids. The fundraiser included a week-long bake sale competition and a movie buyout for Inside Out. Students could purchase tickets to buy out of class, with all proceeds going to Cam’s Kids Foundation.

Every year, local volunteers work for months to create and perform “uxperience” for the purpose of helping local charities and non-profit organizations. This year’s rollicking roller-coaster of music and skits themed “Battle of the Sexes” (StarTicketing.com) will take place May 3, 4 and 5, and proceeds will go to Cam’s Kids Foundation.

On Tuesday February 27th, the Uxbridge Youth Centre, in collaboration with Cam’s Kids, hosted a Mental Wellness session, funded in part by Ontario Trillium Foundation. The session was geared towards grade 7 & 8 students from Uxbridge Public School to teach them about stress and anxiety, and healthy ways of dealing with it.

Healthy Eating 101
The "Healthy Eating 101" program at Uxbridge Secondary School has been officially launched! The first seminar on "Why What We Eat is Important" was held on February 27th and received extremely positive feedback from the students. Four seminars in total will be conducted by Cam’s Kids holistic nutritionist, Stephanie DiGrazia, RHN and incorporated into the Phys Ed curriculum.

"I heard so many people say, "this is exactly what I needed", says Cam's Kids ambassador Katryna. The week of Valentine's just happens to be one of the most stressful times for post-secondary students. Major assignments, mid-terms and dreary, cold winter weather combine to make this a high stress time for many. So when smiling Cam's Kids ambassadors show up in populated study areas on campuses across Canada handing out quality Lindt chocolate hearts attached to a kind-worded card, the effect is heartwarming, to say the least.

The Third Annual Ponder This! - Cam’s Cup Tournament took place on Saturday February 3rd, 2018. There were 16 teams, 100 participants, many volunteers and a huge number of Cam’s Kids supporters to help make the day a wonderful success. The first year of the tourney was the coldest day of winter, the second year the warmest…but this year was the charm!

Last year the University of Guelph tragically lost four students due to mental health issues. The event received national media attention and the University was scrutinized for the resources available for students. Now in their second year in Guelph, Cam’s Kids — an Uxbridge based non-profit organization — hopes to promote awareness and resources to help youth struggling with anxiety.

At the beginning of September, in partnership with 12 universities and colleges, Cam’s Kids pamphlets were distributed to 22,000 students across Canada in their frosh kits. Students were encouraged to go to www.camskids.com and submit an anxiety/stress busting tip for a chance to win 1 of 3 iPhone 7’s. The contest ended on September 30th, 2017 and it is now time to draw the winners!!

Cody Purtell- Fighting the "Good Fight"
The 23-year-old Bancroft native, known professionally as The Constrictor, is now fighting the good fight on behalf of Cam’s Kids, promoting the mission and work of the foundation every chance he gets. With his fifth professional bout September 9 at Medicine Hat’s Canalta Centre to be aired live on The Fight Network, he sees a glorious opportunity to take that effort to a new level.

Brooke Jones "Hike 4 Health"
On Sunday June 25th Brooke Jones began her week long trek that she called “Hike 4 Health.” She travelled from Ontario to the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island in Pacific Rim National Park, where she began her solo-hike. Brooke hiked a total of 75 km in 6 days to raise awareness for mental health, and to be a reminder of the value of outdoor pursuits and the connection to mental well-being.

This past Saturday June 24th, 2017 many supporters gathered for the 3rd Annual Cam’s Kids Tournament at Wooden Sticks in Uxbridge. Golfers were greeted at registration by eager ambassadors and volunteers with a Cam’s Kids bag, hat, golf shirt and a custom made Cam’s Kids leather golf head cover.

To overcome her anxiety, Eyre started talking about her feelings. In time, the feelings began to ease. Now when she sees a gravel truck, she reminds herself that it is normal for them to be on the road. Tragedies happen, she says.
