Happy 2022 from the Cam’s Kids team! With another successful holiday season under our belt and a team full of incredible ambassadors and supporters, Cam’s Kids is excited to see what 2022 has in store. Last year, despite the challenges we all faced during the pandemic, Cam’s Kids had so much to be grateful for.
Let’s take a minute to appreciate all of the opportunities we had in 2021; here’s our Cam’s Kids Year in Review.
January 2021
Cam’s Kids Ambassadors participated in Bell Let’s Talk Day in January, sharing actions that they take to make a positive change for mental health.
February 2021
In February, Cam’s Kids welcomed a new expert to our Ask an Experts team, Rennet Wong-Gates. Ambassadors also participated in the Coldest Night of the Year (virtually) and attended a workshop hosted by Confidence Coach Wendy Derrick.
March 2021
Through fundraising initiatives, Cam’s Kids enrolled 115 ambassadors in LivingWorks Start training to teach students suicide awareness. Cam’s Kids Western also hosted a live Instagram event with Suzie Durigon of @justcrumbs!
April 2021
In collaboration with @lemonade_standca, Cam’s Kids held a candle fundraiser where $5 from every candle sale was donated to help support young people struggling with anxiety (and over $500 was raised!).
May 2021
Recruitment was going strong for our 6th annual golf tournament in May while we also celebrated #MentalHealthWeek…did you know about the benefits of power poses?!
June 2021
Cam’s Kids hosted our 6th annual golf tournament in June at Wooden Sticks Golf Club. Due to the hard work and generosity of our participants, sponsors, and donors, we had an incredibly successful day — and we even celebrated our first hole-in-one!
July 2021
In July, we hosted our first ever Cam’s Kids Book Club, reading “What Happened to You?” by Oprah Winfrey.
August 2021
Cam’s Kids kicked off our Corporate Leaders program in collaboration with Flynn Group of Companies (which continues to successfully move forward right into 2022)! Ambassador recruitment was also going strong for the 2021 school year all across Canada.
September 2021
In September, Cam’s Kids hosted a back-to-school prep session with The Uxbridge Youth Center sharing tips, tools, and resources for a smooth transition to a new school year. We also hosted our annual iPhone giveaway with generous support from Telus!
October 2021
Cam’s Kids celebrated a huge milestone in October when we officially doubled our Ambassador program with over 800 ambassadors across Canada! We were busy this month sharing important resources for that first month of school, like tips on how to manage midterm anxiety.
November 2021
In November, we received incredibly generous support from Evripos Janitorial Services through a donation that continues to help us achieve our mission at Cam’s Kids. We also hosted our annual No Drink November and Movember challenges!
December 2021
Finally, in December, Cam’s Kids wrapped up 2021 with our Candy Cane Campaign, spreading some holiday cheer on campus. We also took the time to reflect on the year and look ahead to great things in 2022.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for being part of our 2021. We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish in 2022, and we’re so happy you’re here with us!
