Cam's Kids Attended Beyond 3:30 Program's Community Dinner
Beyond 3:30 gives students between the ages of 11 and 14 a safe and welcoming place for sports and physical fitness, a nutritious meal, and homework support each school day - opportunities that are out of reach for most families facing poverty issues.
"Instead of spending time on the streets, or going home to an empty apartment, Beyond 3:30 gives students between the ages of 11 and 14 a safe and welcoming place for sports and physical fitness, a nutritious meal, and homework support each school day - opportunities that are out of reach for most families facing poverty issues. Beyond 3:30 is offered for free to all students."
Cam's Kids was honoured to be asked to attend the community dinner at the end of the year for Beyond 3:30,  to speak to youth aged 11-14 about Cam's Kids Foundation, anxiety, and mental health. National Coordinator, Vanessa Morgan, educated the students that they have somewhere to turn if they need help. Talking about all of the resources available on www.camskids.com and the crisis text line with Kids Help Phone, students in the Scarborough community learned that they could access a reliable, free resource to support their mental health if needed.
It was a great opportunity for Cam's Kids to expand their outreach into the Toronto community, and help more youth in need.
