Cam's Kids was honoured to be asked to be a guest speaker at the Campus Cares Conference - a free event for all Ontario Tech students, which took place on Friday July 24th.

"The Campus Cares Conference is designed to serve as an incubator for thought, care, and respect for the diverse experiences of Ontario Tech students. Specifically, the Campus Cares Conference will consist of three seminars that are centered around Systemic Racism, Pride Month, and Mental Health. Within these seminars, guests will have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of informative presentations, participate in important conversations, learn from a variety of guest spakers, and become informed on the ways that Ontario Tech students can support marginalized students worldwide. An atomosphere of love, support, and allyship is critical for nurturing and amplifying student voices, as they represent a catalyst for change."

Cam's Kids was only recently granted "ratified team" status at Ontario Tech University. As such, team lead Caitlin Morgan led the charge on this event, looking to increase awareness about Cam's Kids and the resources available, as well as encourage students to join the team.

Thank you to the Ontario Tech Science Council for hosting such an important event and inviting us to partake.

If you are a student at Ontario Tech looking to join the team, you may do so here.
