Each September, every Lowe’s, RONA and Reno-Depot corporate store across Canada support a local non-profit organization or public school in their community, through a fundraising initiative Lowe’s Canada National Heroes Campaign. Their goal is to “make a tangible difference in the communities we serve across the country.”
Last September, Cam’s Kids was honoured to have been selected as the local non-profit recipient for the township of Uxbridge, courtesy of RONA Uxbridge. We were ecstatic to hear that we were once again selected as the recipient of this incredible gesture of kindness and generosity, this time thanks to our friends at RONA Port Perry.
For the month of September, customers were asked at checkout if they wish to donate to the Cam’s Kids Foundation. The incredible staff at RONA Port Perry wanted to do more though. So on their own time (and dollar), staff members planned a bbq fundraiser outside the store (1910 Scugog St, Port Perry ON), giving patrons more ways to donate! There was a bbq, homemade lawn games, raffle prizes, contests and so much more! We were absolutely blown away by the enthusiasm and kindness shown by not only the RONA staff, but the members of the community as well. We are also incredibly grateful to Lowe’s Canada, who will then match 50% of all donations raised at this years event!
We are ecstatic to announce that the grand total raised for the Cam's Kids Foundation was .....drumroll please....$5,705.74!!!
We thank you RONA Port Perry and Lowe’s Canada, for making such a difference in your community, and for supporting the Cam’s Kids Foundation!!
