Cam’s Kids Chocolate Heart Campaign is one of our most popular national initiatives, with over 20 post-secondary institutions participating! Each year for Valentine’s Day, Ambassadors set out across their university and college campuses to deliver chocolate hearts and a card to students.
The Chocolate Heart Campaign is an inspiring act of kindness and successful awareness initiative for Cam’s Kids Foundation. Thanks to Mars Chocolate’s generous donation, this year’s campaign was our biggest yet, with over 22,000 chocolate hearts being delivered to students across Canada!
The theme for 2019 was self-care and self-love – “You owe yourself the love and care that you so freely give to others.” Ambassadors promoted this message with all their heart (no pun intended) as they worked hard to distribute the cards and chocolate to remind students that it's okay to take a break and focus on themselves.
Ambassadors went around to campus libraries, coffee shops, and other popular study spots to share this message. The Valentine's initiative put a smile on many students faces as they received this helpful card and thoughtful treat right in the midst of midterms, which for many, brings a lot of stress and anxiety. Many Ambassadors recall the students reactions as: happy, surprised, and truly appreciative – "it really makes people’s day." Thank you again to Mars Chocolate and our many Ambassadors for participating in the success of this campaign and bringing joy to students working hard through the midterm season.
