For many of us who struggle from anxiety, we have also experienced depression at some point along our journey. If not, you likely know somebody who has, or who is currently struggling with depression. Mental health manifests differently in all of us, but affects us all in some capacity. That's why we think it is so important to always talk about mental health and the challenges 1/4 of us face each day.
What better way to continue the conversation about depression and mental health, than to join thousands of other mental health advocates/supporters for an event designed specifically to do just that - talk about depression and other mental health struggles.
Defeat Depression Campaign is a national fundraising event designed to allow individuals and organizations to raise money and awareness for local resources in their area. While this walk takes place across Canada, Cam's Kids will be participating in the local event here in Uxbridge Ontario called Durham Region Annual Walk & Talk for Mental Health, brought to you by Defeat Depression.
On Sunday June 9th, Cam's Kids joined the Defeat Depression Event in Cam's hometown of Uxbridge Ontario. Not only did the event raise funds for local mental health services, but it also encouraged the importance of getting outside and its benefits for mental health. Not to mention the importance of being able to talk about mental health.
Thank you to Defeat Depression for inviting us to attend such an important event!
