Since Cam’s passing, many inspiring things have been done to honour his legacy.
One instance of this is No Drink November, created by Logan Robinson, where “for one month, to honour the memory of friends that I have lost in accidents related to alcohol, [she] will be giving up drinking”. No Drink November is a 30 day challenge that encourages people to not drink alcohol for the entire month of November.
Last November (2018), approximately 20 people participated in this initiative – and that’s just who we know of! A small but courageous idea had a very powerful impact on those who participated. Daniella Crowe and Sarah Best (pictured below) are two of these participants. Daniella stated “No Drink November was well worth the challenge. I thought it would be a lot more difficult to attend social events without drinking alcohol, but it actually taught me that you don’t need to drink to have fun. You can drink water out of a red solo cup without anyone noticing the difference. I felt a lot healthier and on track this month as a result of not drinking!”
If you are interested in participating in this year's challenge (or have participated in the past) send us an email to [email protected] and tell us about your experiences with the challenge! Whether you make it through to the end or not we’d love to hear from you.
Thank you so much to Logan for bringing this initiative to the Cam’s Kids community. It was a great way to raise awareness about the mental and physical effects of alcohol on the body.
