Since Cam’s passing, many inspiring things have been done to honour his legacy.
One instance of this is No Drink November, created by Cam's Kids Ambassador Logan Robinson, where “for one month, to honour the memory of friends lost in accidents related to alcohol, [she] will be giving up drinking”. Logan first began this memorial campaign 5 years ago, after noting that she was "using alcohol as a coping mechanism while battling a depressive episode" the year prior - something she quickly noticed was not uncommon amongst other young people. To read Logan’s first experience of No Drink November check out: https://www.camskids.com/news/no_drink_november.
The premise behind No Drink November is just as it sounds - for the month of November, those who partake in this campaign refrain from consuming any alcoholic beverages. While difficult (particularly socially), Logan and countless other participants who have joined her over the years, note what a difference refraining from alcohol has on both their physical and mental health. This includes the over 30 young people who partook in this year's initiative.
Whether you made it through to the end of the month or not, we’d love to hear about your experience with the challenge. Send us an email to [email protected].
We thank Logan for bringing this initiative to the Cam’s Kids community. It was a great way to raise awareness about the mental and physical effects of alcohol on the body.
