"I heard so many people say, "this is exactly what I needed", says Camʼs Kids ambassador Katryna.
The week of Valentineʼs just happens to be one of the most stressful times for post-secondary students. Major assignments, mid-terms and dreary, cold winter weather combine to make this a high stress time for many. So when smiling Camʼs Kids ambassadors show up in populated study areas on campuses across Canada handing out quality Lindt chocolate hearts attached to a kind-worded card, the effect is heartwarming, to say the least.
"It was actually such a great experience talking to people today & studentsʼ reactions mentioning how helpful this is and how itʼs such a good idea", shares Camʼs Kids ambassador Kaley.
Prior to Valentineʼs Day, caring ambassadors from Red Deer to Halifax, gathered to attach chocolate hearts, generously donated by Lindt/ Lindor, to info cards with a gentle reminder to practice self care.
Post-secondary schools participating in the 2018 campaign included Red Deer College (welcome!), University of Calgary, Western, UOIT, McMaster, Guelph, Queenʼs, Algonquin, Trent, Carleton, uOttawa, and St FX. Also participating for their second year, Fallingbrook Middle School.
"We have just had our first Camʼs Kids activity and it was a lovely success. I wanted to let you know how well this went and know that it is now a part of making a difference on our campus. Thank you, your wife and Cam for Camsʼ Kids and for helping to remind people that there is caring, kindness and support in the world." ~ Suzanne Rosebrugh Clinical Social Worker, Red Deer College
Many many thanks to our generous sponsor, Lindt/Lindor for kindly donating the delicious, quality chocolate hearts. We couldnʼt do this without your support.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to all of the compassionate Camʼs Kids ambassadors who took time out of their busy schedules to help spread love and kindness to others during a stressful week. Sometimes a seemingly small gesture of kindness can make all the difference in the world. Thanks for caring about your peers! You guys rock!!!
